Configuring a POP email account with SSL in ThunderBird Print

This demo assumes you've already openedThunderBird.

1)Let's learn how to setup a pop email account with SSL in ThunderBird. Click on thefilemenu to continue.

2)Click onNew.

3)Please clickExisting Mail Account.

4)Typeyour name.

5)Type youremail address.

6)Select this option if you want toremember your password.

7)Type yourpassword.

8)Click oncontinue.

It will fill in these settings automatically, but let's choosemanual configto choose the settings manually.

9)Click onManual config.

10)Click here to selectPOP3protocol.

11)SelectPOP3.

12)Underserver hostnamemake sure it says mail.yourdomain.com or whatever hostname your web host supports.

TheSSL Portfor POP3 should be 995. Let's change it.

13)Click on995to select it.

NoticeSSL/TLSis automatically selected as we have choosen 995 for the port.

14)Authenticationshould be set to normal password. Let's select it from the list.

15)SelectNormal password.

16)SMTPwill be selected by default. Make sure theserver hostnameis mail.yourdomain.com.

SSL SMTP portshould be 587. Let's change it.

17)Select465from the list.

Again, because we changed the port,SSLhas been changed to SSL/TLS. Leave it as it is.

Authenticationhas been changed to autodetect. Let's change it to a normal password.

18)SelectNormal password.

19)Click ondoneto finish the setup.

Here is yournewly created account!
